Tango Classes

Tango has a powerful magic to it, drawing you fully into the moment, in sync with your partner, connected to the music, and in harmony with the shared energy of the room. To get to that special place, you need to do some work.

In our classes , technique serves expression and human connection is central. Our teaching is grounded in our authentic Argentine tradition and guided by contemporary artistry, creating a dance that is a conversation between two souls. Classes are welcoming, friendly and open to all.

Private Tango Classes

Private Classes

Personalized instruction designed around your goals, curiosity, and experience.

Private classes may focus on technique, musical interpretation, connection, as well as coaching for competition, or performance preparation. Available for individuals or couples seeking depth and clarity, and a deeper understanding of the authentic culture of tango that we bring from our lived experience.

Beginner

The First Embrace

A welcoming way into tango.

We work with posture, embrace, walking, and musical awareness, alongside the social customs that make tango warm and human. From the first class, tango is introduced as a shared conversation built on listening, not a set of steps. In tango, there are two people creating one movement. The traditional terms leader and follower often mislead us, true tango has no hierarchy. The leader proposes; the follower interprets.

Finding the Conversation

This is where things get really interesting.

The majority of our teaching is done through open level classes, following the model in which we learned in Buenos Aires.

These classes focus on learning to spontaneously create your dance while staying grounded and connected.  We look at working with the different orchestras, phrasing, navigation, and partner awareness, while helping dancers feel more comfortable on the social floor. We invite experimentation, imagination, and spontaneity.   The emphasis is not on learning more steps, but on understanding how to respond to music, partner, and space with greater ease and enjoyment.

Advanced

Artistry & Nuance

Advanced classes are by request to join or invitation only.

At this level, attention turns to the details that give tango its emotional richness. We work with the space between the steps, complex musical structures, and expressive clarity. The focus is serious, but the atmosphere stays playful.

Tango 21st Century

Tango did not stop in the golden age. The music keeps evolving, so can we.

Tango 21st Century is a class and practica series led by Carlos, dedicated to dancing to contemporary tango music.

Each session begins with focused instruction, working with the structure, phrasing, and dynamics of modern orchestras. The class is followed by a guided practica, where dancers can immediately apply what they have learned in a supportive and attentive environment. This is not about abandoning tradition. It is about deepening it.

By engaging with today’s music, dancers refine their musicality, expand their expressive range, and develop a more responsive, nuanced connection on the dance floor. Still curious? Read this blog post

Women’s Technique

Your body. Your axis. Your dance.

For women who want to stop waiting to be led and start owning the floor. We work from the ground up — posture, axis, walking, pivots, boleos, giros, and adornos — building the physical intelligence that makes your dance unmistakable. No partner needed.

Ladies Who Lead

Step into the lead. Open your dance.

Leading isn’t reserved for one role — it’s a skill, a language, and another way to experience the conversation of tango. For women curious about leading, this class builds the fundamentals: embrace, navigation, musicality, and the confidence to guide. No experience leading required, and no partner needed. Open to all levels and all dancers who want more options on the floor — at the milonga and beyond. Still curious? Read this blog post.
